Outfox Energy is an independent, family-owned company set up by Keith and Maria Bastian. It's run from Leicester and isn't part of any larger energy group.
In December 2022, Ofgem stopped Outfox from taking on new customers while it reviewed the company's finances. The restriction was lifted in June 2023. The following month, Ofgem fined Outfox £1.8 million for repeatedly failing to provide the financial information it had asked for. It has continued to supply customers throughout.
The electricity we use is generated from a mix of fuels, such as gas, nuclear and renewables like wind, water and solar. The share of each fuel that makes up a supplier's electricity is known as its fuel mix.
Around 40.8% of Outfox's electricity is from renewable sources, backed by Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin (REGO) certificates.
