What is the Tomato Energy fuel mix?

Tomato Energy sources all of its electricity from the wholesale market, resulting in a fuel mix known as residual fuel mix. Unlike some suppliers that use Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origins (REGOs) to label their energy as 100% renewable, Tomato Energy has chosen a different path. They believe that simply purchasing REGOs, which can be bought separately from the electricity itself, does not contribute to a greener grid. Instead, Tomato Energy focuses on making a genuine impact by helping customers generate renewable energy through initiatives like Tomatopia, which offers affordable access to solar power without upfront costs.

Tomato Energy’s Fuel Mix Disclosure for the period from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024 is as follows:

Fuel Electricity supplied by Tomato Energy Average for GB
Coal 14.7% 3.4%
Natural Gas 67.9% 39.3%
Nuclear 10.6% 13.9%
Renewable 0.2% 40.8%
Other 6.6% 2.6%
Total 100% 100%
CO2 emissions (g/kWh)  466 199
