ScottishPower hikes energy bills to new record levels.
ScottishPower has today (7 June 2011) announced that the vast majority of its customers will see their energy bills rise to new record levels. Effective 1 August 2011, ScottishPower will increase electricity prices by an average 10% and gas prices by a staggering 19%. The increase will see a ScottishPower customer on a standard tariff paying by monthly direct debit pay an additional £173 a year.
What we think:
Consumers need to take this warning seriously. The waiting game is over and all hell is set to break loose. The only way is up and customers need to get themselves a cheap fixed deal right now.
